Though this program has been evaluated to ensure it meets the criteria determined by USP <797> and the TSBP Rule 291.133; if you practice pharmacy outside of Texas, it is your responsibility to ensure the requirements of this educational program meet your specific state’s requirements.
Once you have been approved as an evaluator, you’ll need arrange to supervise the participant for:
- Technician Participants: A minimum of 22 hours of process validations
- Pharmacist Participants: A minimum of 2 hours process validations
While it is preferred that you oversee the participant’s training, that is not always feasible. Therefore, it is acceptable for you to assign the participant to train with another pharmacy staff member provided that they meet the required qualifications and have been previously approved by TSHP as an “Evaluator/Instructor.” PER requires that it’s Evaluators are US based Pharmacists and the training is US based.
As an Evaluator, you will submit Process Validation Evaluation Checklists along with documentation of Hands on Supervised Practice and Proctor the participant as they complete the 100 question electronic exam.
Finally, participants should download their official statement of credit for TSBP verification purposes via the participant’s My CPE Monitor profile. Credit typically appears in a participant’s profile within 72 hours of program completion.
