|2015 Updated IV Training for Pharmacists (20hr ACPE)|
|Description: || UPDATED 2015
“Pharmacy Education Resources IV Training Manual for Pharmacists” is a 20 hour ACPE approved program available to pharmacists. The goal of this manual is to provide the pharmacist with a general basis of knowledge concerning sterile pharmaceutical products. It provides basic knowledge to develop an understanding of concepts, techniques, and procedures related to the preparation of sterile and hazardous pharmaceutical products.
A set of “Process Validation Checklists” have been included. This is required in evaluating the reader’s ability to actually demonstrate sterile technique. Most state boards of pharmacy require process validation at least annually.
To receive ACPE credit, pharmacists must work through the manual and self-assessment questions and pass a post test with a score of 75% or better. An IV skills process validation form must be successfully completed and signed by a registered pharmacist and submitted with post test and program evaluation to obtain credit.
